Products You Can NOT Mix With Vinegar

This week we’re going to do things a little different. I’m always telling you all what you can do with vinegar while cleaning your home. This week however, I’m going to tell you what you absolutely can NOT mix with vinegar. These products mixed with vinegar are actually very dangerous for you and your family. Most times people don’t know you can’t mix cleaning products.

When I was younger I actually made a very dangerous chemical gas/reaction and I almost knocked myself out. It’s better to know than be ignorant, especially in these cases.

  • First and foremost you definitely do not want to mix Bleach and Vinegar, this creates a Toxic Chlorine Gas. You can get a nasty chemical burn, especially on your eyes and lungs.
  • Another pair that is dangerous is, Hydrogen Peroxide and Vinegar, this creates Peracetic Acid. These two products are great on their own, especially for a “greener” alternative. However, together they’re dangerous.
  • Baking Soda and Vinegar. This one isn’t necessarily dangerous unless you were to put the two ingredients into a spray bottle together. The reason it’s dangerous is because it could explode if you close the bottle right away, because it caused a gas between the two ingredients. However, that’s really only the first 30 seconds or so. I myself mix these two, but not in a confined area.
